[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE
Something is wrong.
This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.
Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.
Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.
It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.
Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.
Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.
There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.
Not that it counts for much, probably.

Maybe she needs to start paying attention.
Like she should to this spider lady because she heard the word healing and all she can think of is-]
Are band-aids magic? If they're green?
no subject
I don't think they usually would be, although it's not impossible- some people will put magic into an object, like I do with my food, so that it has magical effects when you use it. Like, say, a glove that makes someone a little bit stronger while they're wearing it.
[*You equipped the bandage.]
So making a band-aid with green magic in it wouldn't be out of the question. But I think most of them are just to stick to things and stop them bleeding.
no subject
Can you put magic in everything? Even cats?
[SHE'S NOT GONNA TRY SHE JUST WANTS TO KNOW...]
no subject
Well, you could certainly use healing magic on a cat, if it was injured. But if you're trying to make something magical, I think we generally stick to nonliving things. ...Why cats, specifically?
no subject
I like them.
[THAT'S IT!! THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON SHE ASKED!!! How profound.]
They're good at everything. [What] They could use magic too. That kind of thing would be easy for them.
no subject
I don't think I've ever seen a cat use magic at home- but then again, in my world humans generally don't use magic these days either, and plenty of the ones I've met here seem to cast it perfectly easily.
Though I've known plenty of cat monsters, the same way that I'm a spider monster. I'm sure they'd be flattered to hear you say such things.

[Because Muffet is great. Cat monsters would be equally as amazing. Please put in a good word for her if you manage to get back to your world. Even if she never meets them, cat monsters are already her jam.]
Do they wear pretty clothes?
[SHE'S VERY INTERESTED IN THESE CAT MONSTERS. Sorry Muffet.]
no subject
Some do, yes- a cat monster isn't a typical cat, just as I'm not a typical spider. All monsters are as different from each other as humans are different from other humans. So some cat monsters might not bother with clothes, because they're more comfortable that way, but others might enjoy fashion and have a lot of fun dressing up in elaborate outfits. It really all depends on their personality.
[Hey, she's happy to talk about her home, it's nice to remember it right now.]
no subject
The only problem here is that Ren has 99 questions and she will ask all of them. Stop her.]
Were the cat monsters your friends? Did you have fun together?
no subject
I knew a few, certainly. There weren't that many cat monsters living near where I grew up, because it was very hot there and they didn't like it- and I can't blame them, not with all that fur making them even warmer. Most of the furrier monsters lived over in the colder parts of the kingdom.
But there was one cat monster girl, a rather excitable teenager with dark grey fur, who was trying to set up a business near where I lived. She and her friend would go looking for interesting things and try to sell them to people- I admired their work ethic.
[Bratty and Catty were adorable, okay?]
no subject
There are many things she could focus on here-important things, like kingdoms and Muffet's home. However, here we are fam. Sorry Muffet.]
Her store will be very pretty. The other monsters will give her lots of treasures.
[She's not a pet. It's also not her cat, but she also adds-]
She's a good girl.
Probably wrapping soon?
She always seemed like a nice young woman to me, yes.
