[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE

Something is wrong.

This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.

Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.

Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.

It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.

Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.

Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.

There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.

Not that it counts for much, probably.
ichininyaanshi: (why the commotion?)

The hat is a bit of a weird fit on his head -- somehow both too small and too wide, and he can feel bits of his ruffled hair poking through the ear holes. Still, he'd be lying if he said there wasn't kind of a charm to it. Or a novelty, at least.

He'd started poking bits of his hair back down through the slits, but then he notices Mickey stuck in his hoodie. A beat of laughter breaks out of Ichimatsu; he drops to a knee and reaches out, rather unthinkingly, to grab the collar and stretch it so that one of Mickey's ears can slide through before the other.

"That's not gonna work, mouse. Think more like a NEET... don't try to force it."

So long as Mickey allows him to, Ichimatsu will help him get the whole thing over his head.

"Huh...?"

Of course, he still doesn't know what a NEET is, so the wordage again has no effect on him. But he allows Ichimatsu to push and pull adjust all he likes until the hoodie is properly worn. Mickey smiles, pleased, even spinning on his feet a little.

"Hey, thanks! No wonder you like it so much, it's comfy!"

Humored by the display, Ichimatsu snorts. Good thing he washed it the other day, or the mouse might be singing a different tune. Too bad it's not exactly Mickey's size. He rests back on his heels, adjusting the hat and watching in amusement.

"I guess so. Too hot for this place most of the time."

Mickey spins again, moving his arms and admiring himself in the hoodie. "Boy, I bet everyone in the kingdom would love to have one of these... I should recommend it and make sure someone invents it!"
ichininyaanshi: (i found peace in your violence)

"Yeah? What're you gonna call it?" Ichimatsu lowers his hands to rest them on his knees. "You patent it, you get to name it, you know."

Mickey puts his hands on his hips, grinning. Get ready for this.

"The Ichimatsu!"
ichininyaanshi: (never sell out of it)

A pause.

Then Ichimatsu bursts into outright laughter, smiling widely. It doesn't sound vindictive, at least.

"The One Pine Tree? Doesn't sound that comfortable to me."

Mickey blinks, confused. It takes him a minute to understand. "... Oh, is that what your name means? ... Well, it's only fair to name it after you!"
