[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE

Something is wrong.

This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.

Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.

Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.

It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.

Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.

Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.

There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.

Not that it counts for much, probably.

[The look they give him, once the laughter dies off, is beyond description. There's a mixture of feelings, there- a chaotic mess akin to the clangs and voices that had fought to gain their attention, be heard first.

If there is anyone who deserves pity, in that world, it's-]

Is that how it was, all the time? Is that what you experienced in your world?

[They're still panting. Shaking.]

[Even as the words fade and the child's laughter dies, he can still hear it. The cries for pity, the words from the Nothingness and things said by those in a dying world.

"I love you, Vader Eloha."

The Batter looks at his hands and his own expression is just as unknown as Chara's. Or maybe it's the most open he's been around the child without influence from an outside source. He dug into the world and inevitably spilled his own guts against the floor, but he had been alone at the time.

Here he was not. And the Batter cannot determine if it's better or worse.]

Among other things.

[Because among those wails and screeching metal, there were voices that belonged to people that lived on this island. A little girl who liked flowers. Another one who was much like a monster and the opposite of the Batter. A man in a mask who knew the purifier more then he knew himself. A child who looked at him and refused to FIGHT.

"I highly doubt you do."

And the child before him, of course.]

[How could one stand it?

It provides... clarity, in a way, as to why a person would do what this man has done. To accrue so much LOVE Chara could practically smell it on him, a living embodiment all of it's own. To hear that and seek out a silence, an end--

They understand that more than they wish they did, unable and unwilling to say as much.]

I see.

[How could one stand it?

It's easy. You're created for it. You're created to consume a world, to shove those broken pieces down your throat until it's rendered a bloody, torn mess. To be the last resort in a world that cannot decide on its manner of destruction meant a lot of things.

And the Batter has loved and been loved in the past. And certainly, by Chara's terms, has lOVE. He would fully agree to the meaning behind it. They were called 'The Queen of the Flies' and 'The King of the Rot', after all.

One always followed the other when it came to corpses.

"Pity us." said the world and no one ever defined it. And once everything was brought to the brink and became dead and gone...there was only one noose left.

The Batter grips his right wrist, digging his nails into the flesh. Not quite a random action. There was always something there he needed to feel. Especially right now.]

...anything else?

No.

[No.

They have nothing more to say to him, right now. And before their mouth can open again- before something escapes that they don't mean, or don't wish to say, Chara turns and walks off, ready for this dream to be over.

They have a lot to think about.]
