[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE

Something is wrong.

This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.

Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.

Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.

It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.

Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.

Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.

There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.

Not that it counts for much, probably.

[She doesn't notice his gaze on her sand doodles. Not having an audience has never bothered her before-she still attempted to write, to draw, to give an indication of thoughts she couldn't say aloud. She remembers etching come find me between birds and cats on ruined walls because she was too scared to stop running.

But she's not running away from the people who seem to care about her anymore and the lil Guzma takes its terrible shape. The hair floof might be the only thing to truly distinguish this horrible doodle from any other person. Having people as subjects for her artistic whims is pretty new, okay?? Don't judge.

Animals are her """""specialty"""". And she draws a large creature looming beside him that becomes Goli-shaped with multiple limbs and while that looks to be the end, she stops only to pick the sand from under her fingernail. No, this gremlin is going the distance like it's the climax of a disney movie. Within seconds her dirty fingers are pushed back into the sand and a Luna appears! Amazing! Then a cat, what looks to be a fish on leaf, a large necklace that hopefully resembles the one in his pocket, a couple flowers, a pair of sunglasses, a hut-beautiful.

It's a garbage drawing from a garbage child, but she looks up at him with a smile anyway.

These will make you happy.

[He'd comment of that awful excuse of a drawing of himself - were it anyone else, or the situation were anything but very tense and fragile - but now is not the time or place for his poor sense of humor, or his critique. Guzma watches the scribbly little sand drawing take shape, then...is that supposed to be Golisopod? He squints his eyes and turns his head, then decides, yeah, that is definitely supposed to be his partner there.

Slowly, he begins to relax a little bit. There's something calming in watching her just sit there, scribbling away, watching these childish drawings take shape. They look so primitive and simple, like nothing else really matters other than what Ren sees of him. It's...nice. It's nice to be accepted and liked, despite everything. Not only himself, but his partner pokemon, too.

Then Luna appears, and he freezes. Guzma freezes, and holds his breath. More things appear. Food, flowers, his home... These things will make you happy. He feels as if he were just punched, and bows his head again, clenching his teeth together as he tries to breathe past the tightening of his throat, the burning behind tightly shut lids. He wants to deny it - how could those things make him happy, when he's so quick to destroy them all? A happy home - a place he can actually call home - someone that...actually maybe cares to have him around. His pokemon. These things can make you happy.

It's the truth, isn't it? It's pretty simple, isn't it? They're always made him happy. Safe. Relaxed.

Guzma furiously scrubs at his eyes, unable to find his voice, but nods his head. Yeah. Yeah...

These things make him happy.]

[A verbal response isn't needed. She guessed right-these things make him happy. The nod proves it and the way he wipes his eyes makes her want to reach out and hold his hands, but she learned her lesson. It's okay. She can help him this way instead.

It used to be difficult for her to understand why someone would cry when they were happy or surrounded by things that make them feel joy-used to be, because now she's able to fully comprehend why. It can overwhelm you. Happiness is powerful and she realizes that more and more every single day.

So she doesn't say anything either and goes back to her doodles, repeatedly drawing the things that make him happy.

Maybe drawing him, a couple long eared individuals and a couple cats to remind herself too.
