[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE

Something is wrong.

This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.

Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.

Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.

It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.

Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.

Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.

There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.

Not that it counts for much, probably.

[That's wild. Four giant birds taking care of the people on the islands. She thought they might be dangerous from appearance alone, even after they saved Luna from a terrible accident, but she's learning that's not the case. And with that fear gone, she can't help to ask-]

Do they live in big nests? With baby guardians?

[IMPORTANT Q'S FOR YOU LUNA.]

[ THESE ARE V. IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT LUNA HAS TO HUNKER DOWN AND THINK ABOUT!!! ]

I...don't think so. Tapu Koko has been around for a really long time, but he's not very easy to talk to. He's got a shrine on Melemele, where I'm from, and loves to watch battles, so they honor him with a festival and a pokemon battle every year!

[ she seems pretty happy about it. Who wouldn't be with a Litten in their arms? ] There are other guardians, but I never saw them...I heard they're all amazing, though!

[Battle throws her off instantly and her mind reels to find another meaning for the word outside of fighting. He likes to watch something like that? The violent image her mind is forming doesn't sound like it belongs with a giant bird that saves kids from bridges. And she can't imagine creatures like Nina, or a poor wrestle cat, fighting one another. It's-]

That's scary.

[Por que my friend.]

They fight? It's like that?
holdmyhand: (like the sun.)

Mm! But it's not because they're mad at each other...battling isn't supposed to be scary.

[ her head tilts. ] ...it's...more like, I want the world to see how amazing they are. That they're strong, and our bond is unbreakable. Losing is hard, but it gives us somewhere new to start.

[ not meant to be scary, dear friend. Luna nods to confirm her point. ] I believe in them when they win, and when they lose. They're my precious friends!

[It's confusing. It's not supposed to be scary, but battles are a word she fears. Fighting monkeys and other weird creatures-there's no other association she can make. It's simple, except-

She knows Luna. Knows how much she adores her pokemon and that's clashing with her definition of the word right now. She doesn't look scared and describes the nature of it fondly. She feels like there's a vital part of this she's missing.
]

It doesn't hurt them?
