[MU] - DECEMBER STORYTELLING / MEMORY SHARE

Something is wrong.

This may not very well be obvious, at first. The Storyteller is not present to put forth yet another diatribe, informative or apologetic, and the backdrop of guttering flame and sandy campfire is as present as ever...albeit briefly.

Those who tell their stories will start to notice something...odd taking place. Indeed, no matter how they intend to begin their tale, the land of Mu will immediately start to warp to accommodate it, or something utterly unlike it, until storytellers and listeners alike may find themselves in an exact recreation of a seemingly random memory, in the most stark and painstaking of detail. There is no altering the memory, nor is there any preventing it once it's begun to play - you will simply have to witness memories that are not your own this go around.

Furthermore, stories that take place in worlds other than LifeAftr will be, frankly, inevitable. Those memories, too, will be recreated, to be relived by the teller and lived by the listener.

It is time, once more, for you to tell a story...with a slight twist! This is, in fact, our first player plot, as provided by Dragon! The initial setting will be familiar for oldcomers, and newcomers will recognize it from the introduction they received in their dreams.

Yet for this Storytelling only, people can imagine whatever stories they wish, from both their homes and their time on LifeAftr, as long as they don't mind the fact that others will be reliving those stories in the form of an impromptu memory share.

Even those who prefer not to voice their stories aloud are not safe this time around. If the memory is recalled in essence, Mu will shift to accommodate it in full.

There is, however, a benefit to this: those who venture memories to be relived will receive both a befuddled apology from the Storyteller, who will assert that this was most definitely not meant to happen (they're the Storyteller, not the Rememberer!), as well as a tired promise that the relived memories will be worth two offerings each, as if in compensation.

Not that it counts for much, probably.

[Her ears twitch to his hands, and Ammy yawns openly, rolling over onto her back to open up her tummy for rubs and scritches. One of her dark eyes opens to look back at the sweet little mouse, listening to his gentle words. It's nice, to have a bit of praise, and she can feel the trickle of warmth flowing into her - like a ray of sunshine warming the fur on her back - and feels a rejuvenated strength fill her very soul. Not much, but it's those little things that matter.

Proud of herself? Mm...that's a bit questionable. Of course, Amaterasu is glad the evil beings were all eradicated - the Demon Lords especially - but they still caused so much pain and suffering...so much death. The poison mist of Ryoshima, the annual festival to sacrifice a young woman to the eight-headed serpent, Orochi, the monster infested ark of Yamato...the cursed forest of lost souls, Yoshpet...so many terrible things, but now, it's all safe. Her home, her people, they're safe. So...yes, she is proud, but she must also carry the weight of knowing that lives were still lost, families were uprooted, and that there was pain. It is her burden to bear, so long as she exists, and her duty to continue making the lives of her beloved people better.

That is her sworn oath as a goddess, and for that...she is very proud. Whether to lives or dies, her life has been wonderful. Getting to spend it with such passionate, good, loving people. Getting to serve them and their happiness. It's amazing. She's so honored to get to spend her days here, with them. And it's why she looks back at Mickey with a smile, wagging her tail happily and laying her head on his knee, squinting her eyes shut.

Thank you. Your gratitude means more than you know, little one. ♥]

[He smiles wider as the pup puts her head in his lap, and he continues petting here and there, giving some love to that tummy with rubs and scratches. It makes him miss Pluto terribly, but he tries to console himself - this is a dangerous place, Pluto is better off back home. Just like the rest of the people Mickey cares about.

So, oblivious to all the divine duties Ammy must go through, he merely pets her, continuing the light praise.

I guess this night wasn't all bad. I know we're not sharing our memories willingly... so I promise not to tell anyone what I saw.

[... he has to wonder if anyone would believe him anyway.]

[All those loving pets are nice, and Ammy makes a few soft, contented noises to them - especially the tummy rub. She doesn't know about his yearning for his own dog, or at least the magnitude of it, but she does hope her presence can be one of comfort. The memory she had exposed was certainly...not a pleasant one. So many perished to the hands of that wretched fox and her cunning schemes. Ammy still blames herself for some of them, yes, but battling the evil Ninetails and finishing her off for good...perhaps, in the end, it was worth it. No sacrifice was in vain, and Ryoshima could be at peace, free from the evil of the Demon Lord.

She nods, giving Mickey's nose an appreciative lick, and begins to close her eyes. She's not upset about him seeing that, but just wishes he didn't. It's not a pleasant sight...and the wolf hopes he'll be alright after all is said and done. Perhaps, upon her waking, she'll go to visit Mickey to check up on him. For now, though, Ammy is happy enough to just lay with him until she falls asleep within this dream-like world.

What a good little friend. ♥]
