Oh-- no, no, you don't have to apologize.

had
hit the mark. Mae'd shown up--or her comrades had--when Mira'd needed it most. ]
But you're right. Mae's been... wonderful. I can't imagine my life without her, and I doubt I'd have gotten nearly as far as I have without her.
